So does BSG ever get good? I’ve just finished watching the first season, and other than the first couple episodes where the Cylons destroy humanity and there is this real sense of catastrophic loss, the show has been pure shit.

At best, it’s boring. Most of the time it’s just terrible. I don’t care about any of the characters, except for Adama. And even then Edward James Olmos is playing Edward James Olmos playing Adama.

I can’t figure out why everyone likes this show so much. Does it get better? Season two so far has been just as mediocre, though admittedly i’m only on episode two. I’m honestly not sure I have it in me to continue.

I haven’t seen more than one or two episodes of the original, since it was largely before my time, so maybe i’m not a good judge. Maybe this is a niche thing.

The ridiculously slow pace and godawful dialog remind me of the failure that was Earth 2. Just as long, just as boring, just as bad. At least this has some mediocre special effects once in a while I guess.
