Song

And now a song to the tune of ChrisB:

THERE’S A FIRE

There’s a fire burning brightly in the oval office chair;
He’s the one that we rejected, we didn’t vote to put him there.

There’s a hundred thousand refugees, all of which we helped create;
A war that turned the cameras from the problems of the state.

There’s a billion barrels of oil flowing to us every day;
And its not enough to feed us so we drill the Earth away.

There’s a million voices crying out for peace at any cost;
So we gladly sell our humanity that we already lost.

There’s several thousand workers laid off… and the fire doesn’t care.
He’s moving America to Mexico – Its cheaper over there.

And the Rich keep getting richer – Because that’s the way it goes;
And the poor are simply dying cause we’re all on HMOs.

And the fire keeps on burning in the country’s captain’s seat;
As the nation turns a blind eye to democracy’s defeat.

And the media keeps churning out the same deceptive stream;
Justifying all that’s happened in the Fire’s waking dream.

And now the system’s dying, and our nation’s fading fast;
So we do our patriotic duty and ignore it to the last.

And the fire’s burning – laughing – with his finger on the bomb;
and if apocolypse is coming then it isn’t taking long.

And the fire keeps on burning until all of us are gone.
